Quote by Monu-chanThanks for the Welcome! :D
I too do hope for increasing the group's activity.

So anyone here is reading Horimiya or Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji or Say, I love you?
I think they are one of the most popular romance manga now a days.

And anyone knows any manga with romance and comedy packed in it? and I also like reading a little Erotic manga.

    Try Ai Yori Aoshi.

Hello there! I'm new here in this group!
I love reading Shoujo Manga a lot!
I think that Romance is best expressed via Manga.
Romance anime are good too, but the manga makes the scenes more Heart throbbing <3
My personal favorite manga is Kyou, koi wo Hajimsmasu! it has a special place in my heart, I literally cried while reading this manga.
And my Second choice goes to Dengeki Daisy, followed by Horimiya :D

Well, the mangaka wants to emphasize on the whole 'friendship and love' theme and ends up just being cheesy. And still he tries it again. And ofc that constant bombardment of unnecessary fanservice.
Actually this friendship thing seems hard to put in a story convincingly, cuz I don't remember many manga which don't seem having kinda forced friendship. Even the 'bonds' in naruto seem forced sometimes. Only Oda can manage to make it seem totally natural and awesome. Those truly awesome moments, like Zoro's sacrifice in Thriller bark, pushing Sanji away (who was equally ready for sacrifice) and then standing there, saying 'nothing happened' and so many other moments. I just love One piece's characters and stories, everything is multifaceted, the villains are good, the heroes are better, the side characters have their own stories, even the more minor side characters get their own little stories on every first page!

People change so quickly, because nowadays I read fairy tail only because I'd started it and I don't like leaving stories mid-way.

Exactly. I'm like that most of the time as well. There has to be something rather off putting for me to drop a manga after the first chapter or two.

Also, I'm just reading FT because I started it. It feels too DBZish to me for some reason? Think there could be better story development or something (not quite sure what).

Name one manga in your collection that you couldn't live without. My choice - Vampire Hunter D

Oh, i just looked and saw that I'd answered fairy tail? o.O
People change so quickly, because nowadays I read fairy tail only because I'd started it and I don't like leaving stories mid-way. With the exception of its latest Big chapter, the recent two arcs were snorefests -.-

So my choice is One Piece too!
and lately, I've formed a really great opinion of this manga. I really think that it's not just the best ongoing manga, but also the best manga ever made! It has such depth and variety. Except Oda's overusing of the over-reacting character gag, I don't have even one thing to complain about that manga (ok, I don't like the new world art, i liked the earlier style, but that's just my own choice)

    Probably One Piece

Oh all three you haven't watched are the ones that are not much popular these days, especially because of their art style and themes
Vagabond is based on Yoshioka Eiji's novel, written by same mangaka who made Slam Dunk, it's based on a Samurai and his spiritual journey while he walks the way of sword. (has some mature scenes in one or two chapters)

Slam Dunk: One of the best shonen manga i've read, very fast paced and interesting with a disappointingly abrupt ending, but that makes it short and easier to read (unlike manga like Hajime no Ippo (1000+ chapters) and one piece (700+) chapters which are too daunting for some to start reading)

    Hajime no ippo: again, one of the best shonen manga I've read, it's long, and some arcs are boring, but it's a very motivating manga for sure. And i think it's the most 'shonen' manga I've read till date. But it also has many scenes many many references to male genitalia meant for humor, so not recommended for girls ^^;

My favorite characters from FMA manga are ofc Ed and Al, but also Pride(that badass guy with eyepatch, dunno what he's called in anime) and Greed (the homunculus that possesses the oriental prince)

One piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, Yotsubato, Vagabond, Slam Dunk, Hajime no ippo, Death Note, and many more :P

One Piece, FMA, Death Note - have read these
Vagabond, Slam Dunk, Hajime no Ippo - not yet =b

Really liked FMA (the series and movies too). Ed and Al's teacher, Izumi Curtis is one of my favorite characters (along with Mayes Hughes). Hughes rocks \m/

  15. TheGarbageCollector Oct 20, 2013

Oh man, other than one piece, I haven't even heard of the other titles.. except horimiya maybe. I need to read more >.<"

    My favs are
One piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, Yotsubato, Vagabond, Slam Dunk, Hajime no ippo, Death Note, and many more :P

  16. Cirru Oct 20, 2013

Oh, top 3 is so difficult... have to really think and go through the list (about 115 titles that I've read)...

    Nobunaga no Chef
    One Piece
    Horimiya
    Kataribe no List
    San Batsu 7o3x

...probably a top 5 for what am reading right now

  17. TheGarbageCollector Oct 20, 2013

exactly! ok sometimes anime seems better than manga too, like the durarara manga.

But some manga like One piece and Fullmetal alchemists, are waaaay better than their anime versions!

Which are your top three favs?

  18. Cirru Oct 20, 2013

Mmmm... manga. Most of the time the manga seems better than the anime adaption (if there is one). So many good manga titles out there right now. : )

    14-sai no koi
    Dimension W
    Horimiya
    One Piece
    Bonnouji
    ...so many! ^_^

hmm... it's true that i can't live without manga, but i can't name one .__.
i gotta find some new manga after one gets over x(
so i guess, i can't live without the ongoing ones.. and among the ongoing ones i like um.. fairy tail! x3

    merged: 02-18-2013 ~ 05:00pm
has anyone read Hajime no Ippo here? It's an ooooold manga and is still ongoing. It's fights are the BEST fights i've seen in any manga. Compared to the fights in this manga, the supernatural boring ones in beelzebub, fairy tail, naruto and whatever manga you can name nowadays are plain boring -.-'

Idk about the anime cuz all those animated blasts and fireworks might make fights for those new anime interesting and might not be so for hajime no ippo. But really, if you consider the manga, the fights really draw you in! .... though i'm not sure if girls might wanna read it cuz it has some.. things in some of the pages -.-'
And there's not much story to the manga either i guess, but it's really motivating, now i know what a real shounen manga is like =.='
